Taste of Freedom Volume 2 has landed

With restaurants closed and takeaway options limited, even the most reluctant chefs have been getting reacquainted with their kitchens and brushing up their cookery skills. A good time then, to announce the happy news that Taste of Freedom Volume 2 has landed!

If you fancy trying your hand at some incredible Syrian dishes and donating to two great causes in the process, then this is the book is for you. Jam-packed with beautiful recipes, the book features contributions from Syrians who have been resettled in my hometown of Bath through the UN Refugee Resettlement Scheme, plus others I know through family connections and from my trip to Syria all those years ago.

This project has been an absolute joy and has kept me sane through some very difficult times. In the midst of meeting talented chefs, recipe gathering and recipe testing, all sorts has happened:

  • we’ve gone through a lengthy adoption process and adopted a gorgeous baby (now 2 and a half)

  • in the middle of all THAT, I’ve had cancer treatment

  • aaaaaand... now we’re in lockdown.

As a result, it’s been a few years in the making - but I promise it will be worth the wait. All proceeds will go to Doctors of the World and Bath Welcomes Refugees.

Due to the lockdown restrictions currently in place, I’m selling the book as a PDF download only. In time I plan to get it printed, but in the meantime please share this link far and wide and let’s raise lots of the money for these fantastic charities.

Sahtain!
